Why Choose DSTV Installers in Bergbron?
Bergbron is a quiet suburb in Roodepoort West tucked between Bergsig and Ontdekkers Park, known for solid 1970s facebrick homes on small to medium stands. Most homes still have the original old white RG6 cable that is now corroded in the roof, cracked from heat and chewed by rats – the #1 cause of E48-32 and intermittent signal. The stands are leafy, with fast-growing trees and high boundary walls that easily block 68.5°E, especially for ground-floor Lapa installations. Add the strong Highveld wind that moves light, poorly-bolted dishes and you get daily signal loss. There are also several communal systems and backyard flat conversions that need proper Smart LNB balancing.
Tech Installations doesn’t do one-size-fits-all. We walk your roof, trace your cable, check tree clearance toward IS20, and meter-test every point. That’s why estate agents and body corporates in Bergbron keep referring us.

Bergbron DSTV FAQ – Local Answers
Do you offer same-day DSTV repair in Bergbron?
Yes. We are based in Roodepoort West and carry stock for Bergbron’s common faults – SCD2 Smart LNBs, brackets and new RG6. Most E48-32 jobs in Bergbron, Bergsig and Ontdekkers Park are done within 2-4 hours of your call.
Why does E48-32 keep happening in my 1970s facebrick home?
Bergbron’s 1970s homes still run the old white RG6 which corrodes in the hot roof. Cracks + moisture raise resistance and kill signal. We replace it with black double-shielded RG6, compression connectors and weather boots – permanently fixing it, not patching it.
Can trees on my small stand block 68.5°E?
Very common in Bergbron. Small-to-medium stands with tall trees and high walls block IS20 easily. We measure line-of-sight with inclinometer, advise clean trim height or install a 1.5-2.2m galvanised pole to clear it, then realign to PEAK 90% Locked.
My dish moves when Highveld wind blows – can you fix it?
Yes. Light DIY dishes with plastic plugs shift in strong Highveld wind. We refit with heavy-duty L-bracket, 12mm rawl anchors into facebrick, new wind load hardware and balance check on Promax – stays locked even after storms.
Do you replace old white RG6 cable in the roof?
Absolutely – it’s our specialty in Bergbron. We pull out brittle white RG6, run new UV-stabilised black RG6 through conduits, re-terminate with compression F’s and test each point to 14.2dB MER. No more sparking or picture breakup.
Can you work on communal / complex DSTV systems?
Yes. Many Bergbron complexes share one communal dish. We test dSCR / unicable, multiswitch outputs, balance SCR IDs for 24+ users, and don’t bypass the communal – we restore it correctly so management stays happy.
How much does DSTV installation cost in Bergbron?
Single View from R899, Explora from R1299, repairs from R450 – all inclusive of alignment to MER 14.2dB PEAK 90% and 12-month warranty on workmanship. Exact quote after quick WhatsApp video of your current setup – no hidden fees.
Do you give a warranty and signal proof?
Every Bergbron job comes with a 12-month warranty on our workmanship and photos of Promax HD Ranger+ showing STATUS LOCKED 90%, MER 14.2dB, SAT IS20 68.5E PEAK 90% Locked, LNB SCD2 Smart LNB. Plus tax invoice from Tech Installations 073 442 7665.
