🏘️ Family Homes Specialist
Local DSTV Experts — Right Here in Homestead
Homestead isn’t Midrand or Sandton — its family suburb streets of face-brick established homes and townhouses, low boundary walls, shared driveways, and extensions that have been added over 20 years. That second-storey loft or neighbour’s carport roof now blocks Intelsat 20 line-of-sight. Original 60cm dishes from the 2000s have been battered by East Rand wind, brackets rusted into face-brick, and old RG6 coax letting water in where it runs under roof tiles.
Our team is based 2 mins away in Germiston Central, not in Johannesburg. That means we’re in Homestead for real call-outs, with a bakkie stocked for the suburb: 80cm high-gain DSTV-approved dishes (not the undersized 60cm), SANS-approved foam-filled coax, Smart LNBs pre-tested for complex splitters, 3m pole mounts for townhouse line-of-sight clearance, 38mm galvanised brackets with chemical anchors for face-brick, and non-penetrating mounts for complexes that require them. We handle WhatsApp body corporate approval so you don’t chase the estate manager.

Common DSTV Issues in Homestead
Every suburb has its own DSTV character. Here are the issues we see most often in Homestead — and how we fix them on site.
60% of Homestead calls are rusted brackets in face-brick and undersized 60cm dishes wobbling in East Rand wind. We replace with 38mm galvanised, chemical anchors, and 80cm SANS dishes that lock 90%+.

Many Homestead townhouses share walls and carports, new double-storey extensions block Intelsat 20. We use 3m pole mounts, non-penetrating complex mounts and cable routing along mortar lines so body corporate approves first time.

Homestead established homes still run 1990s RG6 with black tape joins under tiles that let water in. Signal drops to 40% after rain. We replace with SANS foam-filled coax, waterproof F-cons and balance Unicable for family lounges.
