LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
Local DSTV Experts — Right Here in Daspoort
Daspoort isn’t flat suburban Pretoria — it’s Daspoort ridge, exposed and windy with face-brick older homes from the 40s-70s, long boundary walls and original 60cm dishes that have been battered by Highveld wind for 15 years. The ridge funnels wind that flexes undersized poles — we see it daily: rusted brackets, cracked coax letting water in, loose wall plugs in face-brick, and dishes that have dropped from 90% to 54% after a storm. On the ridge, 80cm is essential, not optional.
Our team is based 3 mins away in Pretoria West Central, not in Johannesburg. That means we’re in Daspoort for real call-outs, with a bakkie stocked for the suburb: 80cm high-gain DSTV-approved dishes (not the undersized 60cm), SANS-approved foam-filled coax, Smart LNBs pre-tested for complex splitters, 38mm galvanised wall brackets for Highveld wind, waterproofing and earth bonding. We handle face-brick anchor solutions so you don’t rip old walls, replace rusted brackets with galvanised, and handle WhatsApp landlord permission with photos so you don’t chase the owner.

Common DSTV Issues in Daspoort
Every suburb has its own DSTV character. Here are the issues we see most often in Daspoort — and how we fix them on site.
🌀
Daspoort Ridge Wind Shift & Rusted Brackets
75% of Daspoort calls are after Highveld wind on the ridge. 60cm dishes flex on rusted 32mm poles and wall plugs pull from face-brick. Signal drops from 90% to 50% — E48 on windy days because 80cm is essential here.

🧱
Face-Brick Older Homes & Original 60cm Dishes
Many Daspoort homes are face-brick older homes with original 60cm rusted dishes. Undersized dishes fail on the windy ridge. We replace with SANS 1010 80cm dish, new 38mm galvanised wall bracket, SANS foam-filled coax and waterproofing for Highveld storms.
✔ Fixed same-day in Daspoort
📉
60cm Signal Drop — 80cm Essential on Ridge
On Daspoort ridge, 60cm dishes drop to E48-32 in cloud and wind. We fit 80cm DSTV-approved high-gain dishes, Smart LNBs, earth bonding and 38mm brackets rated for ridge wind. Flat rate quoted on WhatsApp, no upsell on site.

Real questions from Daspoort homeowners. Flat rates, no call-out surprises.

My Daspoort decoder shows E48 – can you fix it today?▼
Yes — E48 in Daspoort is almost always ridge wind shift or rusted bracket sag plus water in the old coax. We carry 80cm dishes, 38mm galvanised brackets and SANS foam-filled coax in the bakkie. We re-align to Intelsat 20 to 94%/87% in Daspoort, replace what’s rusted, waterproof and clear E48-32 on the spot. Same-day within ~2 hours, flat rate quoted on WhatsApp.
Can you fix DSTV signal loss in Daspoort after a storm / wind?▼
Absolutely. Daspoort ridge gets the worst of Highveld wind — 60cm dishes on 32mm rusted poles move 5-10° in a storm. We refit with 80cm essential on the ridge, 38mm galvanised bracket anchored into face-brick correctly, new SANS coax, earth bonding and Smart LNB test. Typical Daspoort ridge fix is 45-60 mins with 90%+ LOCKED before we leave.
Do you work in Daspoort estates and face-brick sectional-titles?▼
Yes — we’re estate-ready in Daspoort. Many face-brick complexes don’t allow drilling in common-area face-brick walls. We bring non-penetrating mounts, low-profile ridge mounts and use WhatsApp group approval so you don’t chase the estate manager. We send before/after photos and signal photos for the HOA. Flat rate quoted on WhatsApp.
What guarantee do you offer in Daspoort?▼
12-month workmanship guarantee in Daspoort — includes realignment if Highveld wind shifts your dish (we use 38mm galvanised so it rarely does). Hardware: DSTV-approved 80cm dish, SANS 10142 foam-filled coax, Smart LNBs and waterproof F-cons. If signal drops below 85% after our fix, we come back. Flat rate quoted on WhatsApp, no hidden extras.
How do I book a DSTV technician for Daspoort?▼
Tap WhatsApp — send “Daspoort” plus your street and issue (E48 / no signal / wind damage / older home recable). We quote flat rate on WhatsApp and give you today’s ~2-hour slot. Based 3 mins away in Pretoria West Central, so we’re en-route same-day, 7 days a week. Or call 073 442 7665 now.
